US Firms Invited to Tap Telangana’s Growing Aerospace and Defence Ecosystem

Date:

Telangana has invited US companies to invest in its fast-growing aerospace, defence, and space ecosystem, as the state positions itself as a major global hub for advanced manufacturing and high-technology industries.

Industries and IT Minister D Sridhar Babu extended the invitation during a meeting with a delegation from the US National War College in Hyderabad, emphasizing that Telangana is rapidly emerging as a preferred destination for strategic investments in aerospace, defence, and space technologies.

The minister highlighted that the state is witnessing strong momentum in the sector, driven by the presence of leading global companies such as Lockheed Martin, Boeing, Airbus, Safran, and Dassault Aviation, along with a rapidly expanding base of MSMEs and startups in precision engineering and defence electronics.

US–Telangana collaboration push

Sridhar Babu urged US firms to explore opportunities in manufacturing, research, artificial intelligence, cyber security, and advanced engineering, stating that Telangana is ready to act as a long-term strategic partner for the United States in critical technology domains.

He also encouraged collaboration with universities and research institutions to strengthen innovation in space technology, next-generation defence systems, and advanced manufacturing ecosystems.

Growing aerospace and defence hub

The minister noted that Telangana’s aerospace and defence sector is witnessing strong export growth and rapid industrial expansion, supported by a robust ecosystem in and around Hyderabad, which has become a key hub for global aerospace supply chains.

The state currently hosts more than 1,500 MSMEs engaged in aerospace and defence manufacturing, contributing to components, drones, avionics, and advanced materials, further strengthening its industrial base.

Vision for global positioning

Officials said the government’s broader goal is to position Telangana as an international centre for aerospace innovation and defence manufacturing, attracting investments that can enhance both economic growth and technological self-reliance.

The renewed outreach to US companies comes amid Telangana’s continued efforts to deepen global partnerships and expand its role in the global aerospace, defence, and space value chain.
