Hyderabad is gearing up for a significant addition to its skyline, with authorities planning a ₹200 crore “Second Cyber Towers” project aimed at strengthening civic administration rather than IT infrastructure.
The proposed landmark structure will come up in the Khaithlapur area and will serve as the headquarters of the Cyberabad Municipal Corporation (CMC)—widely regarded as the richest civic body in Telangana.
Key Highlights of the Project
- The building is planned as a state-of-the-art G+10 structure, making it nearly twice the size of the existing GHMC headquarters.
- It will feature a council hall with seating capacity for 100 members, accommodating 76 ward representatives and officials.
- Dedicated office spaces will be created for the mayor, deputy mayor, commissioner, and department heads.
- A modern command and control centre will be integrated into the complex to streamline governance.
Integrated Civic Services Hub
In a move towards administrative efficiency, the complex is designed to function as a single-window hub for multiple civic services, including:
- Municipal administration
- Water supply services
- Power utilities (TGSPDCL)
- HYDRAA and other departments
Additionally, a separate office for the Hyderabad Metropolitan Water Supply and Sewerage Board (HMWSSB) – Cyberabad zone will also be housed within the premises.
Location and Current Status
Authorities have identified two potential sites within a housing board layout, although one site is currently under a High Court stay. If legal hurdles persist, construction will proceed on an alternate location.
At present, the CMC is operating from a temporary rent-free facility in HITEC City, as planning and design work for the permanent headquarters continues.
A New Landmark for a Growing Skyline
The project reflects Hyderabad’s rapid urban and infrastructural growth, with the city already emerging as a major hub of high-rise developments and modern civic infrastructure.
Once completed, the Second Cyber Towers is expected to become a key administrative and architectural landmark, redefining how civic services are delivered in the Cyberabad region.
