Protolabs Chooses Hyderabad for Global Capability Centre Expansion

Date:

Hyderabad has further strengthened its position as a global technology hub with US-based software company Protolabs announcing plans to set up a Global Capability Centre (GCC) in the city, adding to the growing list of multinational firms expanding their footprint in Telangana.

The development highlights Hyderabad’s continued emergence as a preferred destination for engineering, digital services, and innovation-led operations, particularly in the GCC ecosystem, which has seen rapid expansion over the past few years.

Expansion of global operations in Hyderabad

Protolabs’ upcoming centre is expected to support its global engineering, digital manufacturing, and technology operations, functioning as an extended arm of its international business network. The GCC will focus on strengthening product development capabilities, operational efficiency, and cross-border collaboration.

Company officials noted that the Hyderabad centre will play a key role in enabling scalable engineering and digital solutions, helping streamline global workflows and improve delivery across markets.

Telangana’s growing GCC ecosystem

The announcement adds momentum to Hyderabad’s rapidly expanding GCC landscape, where several global firms from sectors such as technology, life sciences, retail, and manufacturing have already established or announced similar centres.

In recent months, multiple companies have chosen Hyderabad for their GCC operations due to its skilled talent pool, strong infrastructure, and supportive government policies, making it one of India’s fastest-growing destinations for global capability centres.

Boost to jobs and innovation

The new centre is also expected to contribute to high-value employment generation, particularly in areas such as software engineering, data analytics, automation, and product design. Industry experts say such investments are strengthening Hyderabad’s position as a hub for advanced digital and engineering services.

Officials have reiterated that Telangana aims to further expand its GCC ecosystem and position Hyderabad as a global centre for innovation-driven business operations, attracting more international companies in the coming years.
