Hyderabad’s Zen Tech Unveils Advanced AI Anti-Drone Defence Platform

Date:

HYDERABAD: Hyderabad-based Zen Technologies has introduced a new AI-powered anti-drone system to deal with the rising threat of drones in security and defence.

The company said the system is a fully integrated and modular platform, which means it can be used in different ways—mounted on vehicles, fixed at locations, or carried by personnel. It is designed to protect borders, military areas, and important infrastructure from drone attacks.

One of the key features of the system is that it uses both “soft-kill” and “hard-kill” methods. Soft-kill methods include jamming signals and disrupting communication between the drone and its operator, while hard-kill methods involve physically stopping or destroying the drone.

The system works using artificial intelligence, sensors, and real-time monitoring, allowing it to quickly detect and track drones. It can cover a wide frequency range of 70 MHz to 12 GHz, which helps it identify different types of drones.

According to the company, the system is especially useful against low-cost drones and swarm attacks, where many drones are used together. It can track more than 100 drones at the same time and detect threats from a distance of over 15 kilometres.

Experts say such systems are important as drone-based threats are increasing worldwide, especially in defence and security situations. Many countries are now focusing on counter-drone technology to improve safety.

The launch is also seen as a step toward self-reliance in defence technology in India, reducing the need to depend on foreign systems. Zen Technologies has been working on defence training and simulation products and is now expanding into advanced security solutions. With the use of AI and automation, the new system is expected to provide faster and more accurate responses to aerial threats.

Overall, this technology could play an important role in protecting sensitive locations like military bases, airports, and critical infrastructure, as drone usage continues to grow.
