Political Tensions Rise in Telangana Over CAA-NRC Implementation

Date:

In a recent political development, Nizamabad BJP MP Arvind Dharmapuri has made a controversial statement about Telangana minister Uttam Kumar Reddy. Dharmapuri criticized Reddy’s stance on the implementation of the Citizenship Amendment Act (CAA) and the National Register of Citizens (NRC) in the state.

“Uttam Reddy is saying that CAA-NRC will not be implemented in the state,” Dharmapuri said, questioning Reddy’s secular credentials. “By growing a beard one doesn’t become a secular…There is only one secular party in the country.”

Dharmapuri further questioned the idea of secularism by bringing up the issue of providing refuge to Bangladeshi Muslims and Rohingyas. “How is giving refuge to Bangladeshi Muslims and Rohingyas being secular?” he asked, suggesting that such people should be thrown out of the political system.

The BJP MP concluded his statement by saying that only the Chief Minister can provide clarification on this matter. The statement has sparked a heated debate among political circles in Telangana, with many waiting for the CM’s response.

This incident marks another chapter in the ongoing political tensions in Telangana over the implementation of the CAA and NRC. As the debate continues, the citizens of Telangana await further developments and clarity on the issue.
