Heineken Opens First Asia-Pacific GCC in Hyderabad, Strengthening Global Operations Hub

Date:

Hyderabad: Hyderabad continues its rapid rise on the global corporate map as Dutch brewing giant Heineken N.V. officially launches its first Global Capability Centre (GCC) in the Asia-Pacific region. The newly established facility, named Heineken Business Services India, marks a significant step in the company’s worldwide transformation strategy and highlights India’s growing importance in global enterprise operations.

Located in Hyderabad’s Financial District, the centre is part of Heineken’s expanding global network of business service hubs and is expected to function as a strategic backbone for its international operations across multiple regions.

A Strategic Global Hub for Business Operations

Spread across approximately 76,000 square feet, the Hyderabad facility has been designed as a centralised operational hub to support Heineken’s global business ecosystem. The centre will handle a wide range of functions including finance, procurement, supply chain management, human resources, data analytics, and digital transformation services.

The GCC has already begun operations with over 300 professionals onboard, with strong expansion plans in place. The company aims to scale its workforce to around 800 employees by 2026, cross 1,800 by 2027, and potentially grow to between 3,000 and 4,000 employees by 2030, making it one of the company’s most significant global capability investments.

According to official statements, the Hyderabad centre will not only serve India and the Asia-Pacific region but will also support key international markets including Africa, the Middle East, and Eastern Europe, reinforcing its role as a truly global delivery hub.

India Chosen for Talent, Scale, and Digital Strength

Heineken’s decision to establish its first Asia-Pacific GCC in India reflects the country’s growing dominance in the global capability centre ecosystem. Company executives highlighted India’s strengths in skilled talent availability, digital maturity, cost efficiency, and operational scalability as key factors behind the move.

Officials also noted that Hyderabad offers a unique combination of world-class infrastructure, strong policy support, and a deep talent pool, making it one of the most attractive destinations for multinational corporations setting up large-scale business operations.

Telangana IT and Industries Minister D Sridhar Babu, who inaugurated the facility, emphasized that Hyderabad is rapidly evolving from a traditional IT services hub into a global innovation and enterprise operations centre, attracting leading multinational companies across industries.

Boost to Hyderabad’s Position as GCC Capital

The launch of Heineken’s facility further strengthens Hyderabad’s reputation as one of the world’s fastest-growing Global Capability Centre destinations. Over the past few years, the city has attracted a growing number of Fortune 500 companies setting up advanced delivery and innovation hubs.

Industry experts point out that Hyderabad’s advantages include lower operating costs, high-quality infrastructure, strong academic ecosystem, and stable government policies, all of which contribute to its rapid rise in global rankings for GCC expansion.

The addition of Heineken to the city’s corporate landscape also signals a broader shift in global business strategy, where companies are increasingly decentralizing operations and building technology-driven global service hubs in India.

Part of Heineken’s Long-Term Transformation Strategy

The Hyderabad GCC forms a key pillar of Heineken’s broader EverGreen 2030 strategy, which focuses on digital transformation, operational efficiency, and global integration. By consolidating key business functions into centralized hubs, the company aims to improve speed, consistency, and data-driven decision-making across markets.

With a presence in over 190 countries and more than 165 breweries worldwide, Heineken is strengthening its global service backbone through strategically located capability centres, with Hyderabad now playing a critical role in this network.

As multinational companies continue to expand their footprint in India, Hyderabad’s emergence as a preferred global operations hub reflects a larger shift in how enterprise functions are being structured in the digital era. The Heineken GCC launch further cements the city’s position as a key global destination for high-value business services and innovation-led growth.
