Union Minister and BJP leader G Kishan Reddy on Friday said the Bharatiya Janata Party is fully prepared for the upcoming municipal and corporation elections in Telangana, scheduled to be held on the 11th, and expressed confidence of a strong performance.
Speaking to the media, Reddy said the BJP has intensified its election preparations and has finalised nearly 90 per cent of its candidates. He added that in some constituencies, independent candidates are also in the fray. “The BJP aims to achieve significant success in this election,” he said.
Launching a sharp attack on both the Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) and the Congress, the Union Minister alleged large-scale corruption under their respective tenures. “The KCR family looted Telangana for 10 years, and in just two years, Congress has looted even more. Both parties are corrupt, family-based, and responsible for Telangana’s economic crisis,” Reddy alleged.
He asserted that strengthening the BJP in Telangana is essential for the state’s future. “To save Telangana, the BJP must be strong here under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi,” he said.
Highlighting the party’s recent electoral performance, Reddy noted that Telangana has given the BJP eight parliamentary seats and claimed that nearly 50 per cent of the people voted for the party. He also pointed out that the BJP has won two Legislative Council seats and expressed optimism about the upcoming municipal polls.
“We expect a strong win in this election,” Reddy said, adding that the BJP’s growing support base reflects public trust in its leadership and governance model.
The municipal and corporation elections are being closely watched, as they are seen as a key indicator of the political mood in Telangana ahead of future state and national contests.
