The Indian Navy will host the ‘Indo-Pacific Regional Dialogue’ (IPRD-2026) in New Delhi from November 3 to 5. It will bring together maritime experts, scientists, policymakers, and academics from 18 countries to discuss regional cooperation in the fields of science, technology, and research.
Organized in association with the National Maritime Foundation (NMF), this three-day dialogue will focus on the theme ‘Science, Technology and Academic Cooperation in the Indo-Pacific Region’. Defence Minister Rajnath Singh will deliver a special address on the inaugural day.
The opening day will also include ‘Perspectives from the Flag Bridge’, a special session featuring former naval chiefs from India and Sri Lanka, and an ambassadorial interaction titled ‘Sahyog Ka Samvaad’.
This conference will feature five thematic sessions covering topics such as academic cooperation, maritime domain awareness, protection of critical infrastructure, oceanography, climate resilience, maritime governance and emerging maritime technologies.
The objective of this dialogue is to develop practical proposals for joint research, technology development, scientific data-sharing and robust institutional partnerships. This initiative aligns with India’s Indo-Pacific Oceans Initiative (IPOI), launched in 2019 and its MAHASAGAR vision, which pertains to regional security and development. These discussions will focus on strengthening maritime cooperation and on concrete measures to address shared challenges in the Indo-Pacific region.
