IPEMA–Poultry India Celebrates World Protein Day 2026 in Hyderabad, Highlights Importance of Daily Protein Intake

Hyderabad: IPEMA–Poultry India, with support from the National Egg Coordination Committee (NECC), celebrated World Protein Day 2026 at SkyKings Football Academy, Bowenpally, Secunderabad, emphasizing the critical role of protein in daily nutrition.

The event brought together nutrition experts, sports professionals, and industry leaders to raise awareness about protein consumption and its impact on public health.


Protein Essential for Muscle, Immunity and Growth

Speakers at the event highlighted that protein is fundamental for muscle development, immune strength, child growth, and overall well-being.

They pointed out that a significant number of Indians consume less than the recommended daily protein intake, leading to hidden nutritional deficiencies that can impact productivity, physical fitness, and long-term health outcomes.

Industry representatives noted that poultry remains one of the most affordable and high-quality protein sources for households across India.


Experts Stress Balanced Nutrition for Youth

Md Zakeer Hussain, U-17 National Team Coach and AFC Instructor, emphasized the importance of balanced protein intake for athletic performance and youth fitness.

Dr. Kiraannmayye Addu, Chief Clinical Nutritionist and Lifestyle Consultant, highlighted the role of adequate protein in strengthening immunity and maintaining a healthy lifestyle, particularly among children and adolescents.


Poultry Sector Reaffirms Commitment to Nutritional Security

Uday Singh Bayas, President of IPEMA–Poultry India, described protein as the “building block of life” and reaffirmed the poultry industry’s commitment to enhancing nutritional security in India.

He also invited stakeholders and industry participants to attend the 18th edition of Poultry India Expo 2026, scheduled from November 25 to 27 at HITEX, Hyderabad.


The World Protein Day 2026 celebration in Hyderabad underscored the growing focus on nutrition awareness and the need to bridge India’s protein gap through affordable and accessible dietary sources.
