Hyderabad H-CITI Project: Steel Flyover Work at Mugdha Junction Accelerated to Ease Traffic Around KBR Park

Date:

Hyderabad: The works under the ambitious Hyderabad City Innovative and Transformative Infrastructure (H-CITI) project have been accelerated to address future traffic congestion in the city.

As part of the initiative, Hyderabad City Police Commissioner V C Sajjanar conducted a field-level inspection of the ongoing steel flyover construction at Mugdha Junction on Banjara Hills Road No. 2 on Friday. Senior police officials and representatives from the Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) and Megha Engineering were also present during the inspection.

Seven Flyovers and Underpasses Planned Around KBR Park

Commissioner Sajjanar stated that the H-CITI project aims to establish a signal-free road network in Hyderabad. Over the next two years, a total of seven flyovers and underpasses will be constructed to ensure uninterrupted traffic movement around KBR Park.

The project is being executed in a phased and well-planned manner to minimize inconvenience to commuters and residents.

Night-Time Construction to Minimize Disruption

To reduce daytime traffic congestion, the commissioner clarified that construction activities will be carried out intensively during night hours.

Authorities are closely monitoring the initial impact of the works. Based on traffic conditions observed during the first two to three days after commencement, necessary route diversions and modifications will be implemented.

Faster Connectivity Across Hyderabad

Once completed, the project is expected to transform junctions around KBR Park into signal-free intersections. This will facilitate smoother and faster transit to the central, eastern, and western parts of Hyderabad.

The H-CITI project is seen as a key step toward modernizing Hyderabad’s urban infrastructure and tackling rising traffic congestion through long-term, sustainable solutions.
