Union Minister Bandi Sanjay Kumar Criticises Congress Leadership for ‘Appeasement Politics’ During Campaign

Date:

Hyderabad, Telangana: Union Minister Bandi Sanjay Kumar on Thursday accused the Congress government in Telangana of engaging in vote-bank politics during the ongoing election campaign. Speaking at a public event, the minister said that political leaders should maintain authenticity and not resort to symbolic gestures to gain votes.

Without naming individuals directly, he alleged that certain Congress leaders had adopted religious postures for electoral gains, describing such acts as a form of appeasement politics. “Leaders must have the conviction to stand by their beliefs and respect all communities without resorting to tokenism for votes,” he said.

Kumar reiterated that his party stands for cultural integrity and equal respect for all religions while opposing what he called “vote-driven theatrics.” He also criticised the state government’s leadership for what he described as inconsistent stances aimed at polarising voters.

Political observers note that his remarks come amid a heated campaign atmosphere in Telangana, where both the BJP and Congress are making sharp accusations over issues of secularism, development, and governance.
