Defence Minister Rajnath Singh Clarifies on Ceasefire and Operation Sindoor

Date:

Defence Minister Rajnath Singh firmly dismissed claims that the ongoing ceasefire between India and Pakistan was influenced by any external intervention. Addressing a public gathering in Hyderabad, Singh stated that India’s decision to temporarily pause Operation Sindoor was a strategic move and not the result of outside pressure.

He said, “There are some people who say that this ceasefire between India and Pakistan happened because of someone’s interference. I want to make this clear: our action against the terrorists was not postponed because of anyone’s interference. Operation Sindoor has been postponed. If any terrorist incident occurs, Operation Sindoor will resume.”

The Defence Minister reassured the nation that India’s security decisions remain sovereign and uncompromised, emphasizing that no external force can dictate the country’s actions when it comes to national security and counter-terrorism operations.

Singh reiterated the government’s firm stance against terrorism, warning that any hostile activity from across the border would lead to an immediate and decisive response. He underscored that India’s armed forces are fully prepared to act in the interest of the nation’s security and that the ceasefire should not be misinterpreted as a sign of weakness.
