Rajnath Singh: Naxalism Now Limited to 5-6 Districts, Will End by 2026

Date:

Hyderabad, Telangana — On the birth anniversary of legendary freedom fighter Alluri Sitarama Raju, Defence Minister Rajnath Singh praised the government’s efforts in curbing Naxalism and reaffirmed its commitment to completely eradicating the threat.

Speaking at an event in Hyderabad, Singh said, “There was a time when Naxals had surrounded the tribal areas. Today, the condition of Naxals is such that they are limited to only 5-6 districts across the country.”

He further cited Union Home Minister Amit Shah’s statement, saying, “By March 2026, the entire country will be free from Naxalism.”

The remarks come as part of the government’s broader narrative of strengthening internal security and restoring peace in previously insurgency-affected regions. Singh also paid tribute to Alluri Sitarama Raju, hailing his legacy as a symbol of tribal resistance and patriotism.
