Union Minister G. Kishan Reddy Pays Tribute to Dr. Syama Prasad Mookerjee on His Death Anniversary

Date:

Hyderabad, Telangana — On the death anniversary of Dr. Syama Prasad Mookerjee, Union Minister G. Kishan Reddy paid tribute to the founder of the Bharatiya Jan Sangh, hailing his ultimate sacrifice for the full integration of Jammu & Kashmir into India.

Speaking on 23rd June, Reddy said, “Dr. Mookerjee gave his life fighting against the special status granted to J&K. At a time when the Nehru-led government was following a pro-Pakistan policy, Dr. Mookerjee demanded one nation, one Prime Minister, and one flag. He fought for the complete merger of J&K with India.”

Reddy highlighted how Mookerjee’s vision has been realized under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, with the abrogation of Article 370, thereby ensuring equal rights and full integration of the region with the rest of the country.

He called for nationwide programs on June 23rd to commemorate Mookerjee’s sacrifice and educate the youth on his contributions. “His legacy continues in the government’s actions. Today, the people of J&K enjoy equal rights, and national unity is stronger than ever,” Reddy said.

Dr. Syama Prasad Mookerjee died under controversial circumstances in 1953 after being arrested while protesting J&K’s special status. His death remains a defining moment in India’s political history and is central to the BJP’s ideological roots.
