Hyderabad BJP Slams Revanth Reddy Govt Over Miss World Event, Alleges Temple Neglect

Date:

Hyderabad: BJP leader NV Subash has criticized the Telangana Congress government, led by Chief Minister Revanth Reddy, over the ongoing Miss World competition in Hyderabad. Subash alleged that the state government deliberately excluded the Bhagyalakshmi temple near Charminar from the official itinerary of the international contestants.

Speaking to the media, Subash said, “The Miss World competition is being watched in over 140 countries. The Telangana BJP questions the government: Why were key heritage spots shown to contestants, but the Bhagyalakshmi temple was left out? Is this intentional?”

He further accused the Congress government of colluding with AIMIM to keep the Hindu temple out of view, especially as the MLC elections approach. “We strongly suspect that the Revanth Reddy government, under pressure from AIMIM, is trying to sideline Hindu religious sites for political reasons,” Subash added.

The Bhagyalakshmi temple, located adjacent to Charminar, has long been at the center of political and communal discourse. BJP leaders often cite it as a symbol of Hindu pride, while its proximity to a historic monument has drawn administrative restrictions in the past.

Subash concluded by saying the BJP will not allow any government to “hide or disrespect temples for vote-bank politics” and vowed to raise the issue with state authorities and the public.
