BJP MLA T Raja Singh Criticizes Congress Government, Vows to Make Shobha Yatra Grand

Date:

Hyderabad, TelanganaBJP MLA T Raja Singh strongly criticized the Congress government in both Karnataka and Telangana, alleging that restrictions were being imposed on Hindu festivals and that atrocities were being committed against Hindus. Speaking on the upcoming Ram Navami Shobha Yatra in Telangana, Singh claimed that the Congress government was stifling the celebrations and religious freedoms of Hindus.

“Wherever there is the government of Congress, restrictions are being imposed on the Hindu festivals and atrocities are being committed on the Hindus, be it Karnataka or Telangana,” Singh said during his address. He drew a parallel with West Bengal, where, according to him, Mamata Banerjee was attempting to impose restrictions on the Ram Navami Shobha Yatra.

Singh went on to highlight the restrictions imposed by local police in Telangana for the Shobha Yatra, which traditionally includes celebrations such as playing DJ music, using cameras, and flying drones. “Here, we were also given notice by the local police officials not to play DJ, use cameras, or use drones,” he stated.

Despite the police restrictions, Singh made it clear that the Shobha Yatra would proceed with even more grandeur, asserting, “I want to tell the Chief Minister of Telangana that this year’s Shobha Yatra will be very grand, and he can do whatever he wants to do.”

Singh’s statement reflects the BJP’s ongoing tension with the Telangana government, especially regarding religious freedom and the perceived treatment of Hindu festivals. His strong words underline the BJP’s stance that any attempt to curb religious celebrations will not be tolerated, signaling that the party plans to go ahead with the Ram Navami Shobha Yatra in a larger and more visible manner.

The Ram Navami festival and its associated processions, including the Shobha Yatra, are a significant event for Hindus in Telangana. Singh’s remarks have likely added fuel to the ongoing political debate around religious freedoms and government policies.
