The popularity of electric vehicles in the country continues to rise. According to the latest retail sales data released by the Federation of Automobile Dealers Associations (FADA), significant growth was recorded in the sales of electric cars, two-wheelers, three-wheelers, and commercial vehicles in June 2026.
The highest growth was observed in the sales of electric passenger vehicles. Retail sales in this segment surged by 107.75 percent to reach 31,823 units in June 2026, up from 15,318 units in June 2025. Sales also saw a 19.27 percent increase compared to May 2026.
The market share of electric cars within the overall passenger vehicle market rose to 7.7 percent, compared to 6.6 percent in May 2026 and 4.8 percent in June 2025.
Meanwhile, retail sales of electric two-wheelers rose by 74.98 percent to 1,93,735 units. A year earlier, the figure stood at 1,10,719 units. Sales increased by 13.47 percent compared to May 2026, and the segment’s market share climbed to 10.6 percent.
Sales of electric three-wheelers also remained consistently strong. Retail sales in this category grew by 27.38 percent to 77,448 units in June. Electric vehicles accounted for 64.1 percent of the total three-wheeler market, highlighting their growing dominance in this segment.
Electric commercial vehicles recorded the fastest growth rate. Retail sales in this category surged by 163.7 percent to 3,214 units in June 2026, up from 1,219 units in June 2025. The segment’s market share rose to 3.53 percent. According to FADA, the latest data indicates a steadily growing inclination among people in the country towards clean and eco-friendly transportation. Alongside this, the market share of electric vehicles is consistently strengthening, raising expectations for rapid expansion in this sector in the near future.
