In a significant move to strengthen grassroots entrepreneurship and innovation, Telangana’s flagship women entrepreneurship initiative WE Hub has launched its first Centre of Excellence (CoE) in Peddapalli district. The initiative marks a major expansion of the state’s efforts to promote inclusive economic growth beyond urban centers.

The Centre of Excellence aims to empower women entrepreneurs and youth by providing access to structured training, mentorship, incubation support, and market linkages. It is designed to help individuals transform innovative ideas into scalable and sustainable business ventures, particularly in rural and semi-urban regions.

Focus on Skilling and Innovation

The newly launched centre will offer a wide range of support services, including:

  • Entrepreneurship development and business training programs
  • Digital and technical skill-building workshops
  • Startup incubation and mentoring support
  • Access to industry experts and advisors
  • Market linkage and business networking opportunities
  • Support for early-stage innovation and idea validation

The initiative is expected to play a key role in nurturing startups in sectors such as technology-enabled services, sustainable MSMEs, manufacturing, and creative industries.

Partnership and Support

The Centre of Excellence has been established with support from HP (Hewlett-Packard) and the Peddapalli district administration. The collaboration aims to strengthen infrastructure and provide access to modern digital tools and resources for aspiring entrepreneurs.

Officials stated that the initiative aligns with Telangana’s broader vision of building a strong innovation ecosystem at the district level, ensuring that opportunities for entrepreneurship are not limited to major cities.

Leadership Remarks

Speaking on the occasion, Telangana IT and Industries Minister D. Sridhar Babu emphasized the importance of empowering women entrepreneurs and promoting innovation at the grassroots level. He noted that such initiatives are essential for building a self-reliant and inclusive economy in the state.

WE Hub CEO Sita Pallacholla described the launch as a major milestone, stating that the Centre of Excellence will bring mentorship, training, and startup support directly to rural communities, enabling greater participation in the entrepreneurship ecosystem.

Significance of the Initiative

With the launch of the Centre of Excellence in Peddapalli, the district becomes the first in Telangana to host such a facility under WE Hub. The initiative is expected to:

  • Encourage local job creation and self-employment
  • Strengthen digital and entrepreneurial skills among youth and women
  • Bridge the gap between urban startup ecosystems and rural talent
  • Promote innovation-driven development at the district level
