Union Power Minister Manohar Lal on Saturday said renewable energy, grid modernisation, energy storage, and institutional capacity building have emerged as key pillars of India-Africa cooperation.
He was addressing the India-Africa Strategic Partnership Meet during the Bharat Electricity Summit 2026 in the national capital.

Describing the ties as “transformational,” the minister said India remains a trusted partner in supporting Africa’s energy transition.
Both sides agreed to deepen cooperation in:

Minister of State Shripad Yesso Naik stressed the need to convert intent into action, noting that energy access is a key driver of economic transformation.

Africa50 CEO Alain Ebobissé emphasised that Africa is seeking:
