SCR RPF Rescues 92 Children, Recovers Stolen Property Worth ₹17.97 Lakh in February

The Railway Protection Force of South Central Railway carried out several operations in February to enhance passenger safety and protect railway assets. During the month, the force rescued 92 children, recovered stolen property worth ₹17.97 lakh, seized narcotics and liquor, and took action against ticket touts and railway thefts.

92 Children Rescued Under Operation Nanhe Farishte

As part of Operation Nanhe Farishte, the RPF rescued 92 children who were found lost or separated from their families at railway stations and on trains across the SCR zone.

According to railway officials, the rescued children included 73 boys and 19 girls. They were handed over to the Child Welfare Committees to ensure their care and protection.

Stolen Passenger Property Recovered

Under Operation Yatri Suraksha, the RPF registered 38 cases and arrested 43 offenders. During the operation, stolen passenger belongings worth ₹17.97 lakh were recovered.

In addition, through Operation Amanat, officials traced and returned 294 lost passenger items valued at ₹85.21 lakh to their rightful owners.

Crackdown on Drug Smuggling

The RPF also conducted anti-narcotics operations under Operation Narcos.

During the operation, ganja worth ₹72.37 lakh was seized and 20 individuals were arrested for smuggling narcotics through railway routes.

Illegal Liquor Seized on Trains

Under Operation Satark, officials seized illegal liquor worth ₹1.56 lakh that was being transported through trains. Cases were subsequently registered by the Excise Department.

Action Against Ticket Touts and Railway Theft

In the crackdown against illegal ticket sales, Operation Uplabdh led to 14 cases against ticket touts, with 15 people arrested and 53 railway tickets worth ₹95,129 seized.

Meanwhile, under Operation Rail Suraksha, the RPF solved 52 cases involving theft of railway property and recovered materials valued at ₹6.77 lakh.

Officials said these operations highlight the continued efforts of the Railway Protection Force to ensure passenger safety, prevent crime on railway premises and safeguard railway assets across the South Central Railway zone.
