Date:

Hyderabad: A new Amrit Bharat Express connecting Nagercoil in Tamil Nadu with Charlapalli in Telangana is set to be launched soon, aimed at improving affordable long-distance rail connectivity across southern and central India.

According to railway sources, the train will operate with Sleeper Class and General Second Class coaches, making it a cost-effective travel option for passengers, particularly long-distance commuters.

Improved Connectivity Across Three States

The proposed train service will pass through Andhra Pradesh, linking Tamil Nadu, Telangana and Andhra Pradesh and enhancing rail connectivity between the three states.

Officials said the service will help passengers travelling between southern Tamil Nadu and central parts of the country, while also strengthening connectivity to Charlapalli, which is emerging as an important railway hub.

Affordable Travel for Long-Distance Passengers

The Amrit Bharat Express is designed to provide affordable and comfortable travel for passengers in non-AC categories, particularly benefiting travellers who rely on sleeper and general class services.

Schedule to Be Announced Soon

Railway officials said the train will be flagged off shortly, while details regarding the schedule, stoppages and official launch date will be announced soon.

The new service is expected to ease passenger movement and improve regional connectivity, supporting growing travel demand across the Tamil Nadu–Andhra Pradesh–Telangana rail corridor.
