India and Seychelles Exchange MoUs to Strengthen Bilateral Cooperation at Hyderabad House

Date:

India and Seychelles on Monday exchanged a series of Memorandums of Understanding (MoUs) aimed at strengthening bilateral cooperation, in the presence of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Seychelles President Patrick Herminie, at Hyderabad House in New Delhi.

The exchange of MoUs followed delegation-level talks between the two leaders and marked a key step in further deepening the longstanding partnership between the two countries. The agreements are expected to enhance cooperation across multiple sectors, including development assistance, capacity building, infrastructure support, and areas of strategic interest.

Officials said the MoUs reflect the shared commitment of India and Seychelles to expand collaboration in line with mutual priorities. India has been a long-standing development partner of Seychelles, particularly in areas such as maritime security, renewable energy, healthcare, and human resource development. The latest agreements are expected to add momentum to ongoing projects and open new avenues for cooperation.

The signing ceremony highlighted India’s continued focus on strengthening ties with countries in the Indian Ocean region under its SAGAR (Security and Growth for All in the Region) vision. Both sides reaffirmed the importance of regular high-level engagements and sustained institutional cooperation to address regional and global challenges.

The exchange of MoUs at Hyderabad House underscores the growing depth of India–Seychelles relations and reflects a shared intent to work closely towards regional stability, economic development, and people-to-people ties.
