BJP’s NV Subhash Says Congress Facing ‘Headache’ in Karnataka Amid CM–Deputy CM Rift

Date:

Hyderabad: BJP leader NV Subhash on Tuesday intensified his attack on the Congress government in Karnataka, alleging that the widening rift between Chief Minister Siddaramaiah and Deputy Chief Minister DK Shivakumar has emerged as a major challenge for the party’s high command. His remarks come at a time when political observers have repeatedly highlighted the uneasy power-sharing arrangement between the two top Congress leaders.

Subhash claimed that the tensions within the ruling party have begun to affect governance across the state. “The internal tussle between Karnataka CM Siddaramaiah and his deputy DK Shivakumar has become a headache for the Congress high command,” he said, asserting that the leadership in Delhi is struggling to maintain stability in the state unit.

He further accused the Congress of failing to deliver on the five major guarantees it promised ahead of the 2023 Assembly elections. “The Karnataka government has failed on its five election guarantees. This is the last time Congress will be in power in Karnataka,” Subhash said, alleging that the state’s administrative machinery has weakened under the current regime.

According to Subhash, DK Shivakumar is allegedly lobbying hard within the party to replace Siddaramaiah as Chief Minister. “DK Shivakumar is putting pressure on his party high command to become the CM,” he claimed, adding that such internal disputes have created uncertainty within the government.

The Congress, however, maintains that its administration remains committed to governance and that reports of internal strain are exaggerated. Still, the BJP continues to sharpen its criticism, positioning the alleged leadership tussle as evidence of a weakening government in Karnataka.
