On the recent violence in Murshidabad, BJP MP Dr. K Laxman has come down heavily on the West Bengal government, accusing it of failing to maintain law and order and creating unrest ahead of the upcoming elections.
He stated, “The entire country knows how Mamata Banerjee and her government are unable to tolerate the decisions taken by PM Modi for the welfare of poor Muslims.” Dr. Laxman further alleged that the rights of the poor were taken away in the name of Waqf, and that such unrest is being deliberately incited for political gain.
He claimed that the violence is politically motivated, with the ruling party in West Bengal creating a tense environment to divert attention from developmental issues and hinder central welfare initiatives aimed at the underprivileged.
His remarks reflect the BJP’s sharpened focus on West Bengal in the lead-up to the elections, with allegations of misgovernance and appeasement politics dominating the party’s criticism of the Trinamool Congress-led state government.
