BJP leader Boora Narsaiah Goud has expressed strong support for the rights of Hindus in India, asserting that they are fighting for their rights democratically and peacefully. Speaking to the media, Goud emphasized that Hindus are not resorting to violence or destruction but are simply asserting their rightful place in a democratic society.
“Hindus are fighting for their rights democratically, they’re not demolishing anything. They have every right to fight for their rights,” Goud stated, defending the peaceful struggle of Hindus to maintain their religious and cultural identity.
Goud’s remarks also touched upon the situation of Hindus in neighboring Bangladesh, particularly highlighting the significant decline in the Hindu population since the country’s partition. “What is happening in Bangladesh? At the time of partition, the Hindu population was 30% in East Bengal, the present Bangladesh, but now it is not even 8%. Where did all the Hindus disappear?” he asked, pointing to the drastic reduction in the Hindu population in Bangladesh as a result of religious persecution and migration.
He further emphasized the peaceful nature of Hindu Sanatana Dharma, asserting that the religion respects all other faiths. “Hindu Sanatana Dharma respects all the religions. It teaches tolerance and peace,” he said, stressing the importance of coexistence and mutual respect.
Goud’s comments come at a time when there are growing concerns regarding the treatment of minority communities in countries like Bangladesh, where reports of discrimination and violence against Hindus have surfaced in recent years.
