Ministry of Mines Hosts Mineral Exploration Hackathon and Critical Mineral Roadshow in Hyderabad

Ministry of Mines is set to host a pioneering event, the Mineral Exploration Hackathon and Critical Mineral Roadshow, at Begumpet, Hyderabad. The event will be graced by the Union Minister of Coal and Mines, Shri G. Kishan Reddy, alongside the Minister of State for Coal and Mines, Shri Satish Chandra Dubey, and special guest Deputy Chief Minister of Bihar, Shri Vijay Kumar Sinha.

Focus on Innovation in Mineral Exploration

The Mineral Exploration Hackathon will be a focal point of the day, themed on ‘Innovative Mineral Hunt Techniques’. This initiative aims to revolutionize mineral prospecting through cutting-edge methodologies adopted globally. Participants will engage in activities centered around the interpretation and modeling of geophysical data, integration of diverse datasets, and the application of advanced technologies like Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Machine Learning (ML).

Launch of National District Mineral Foundation Portal

During the event, Shri G. Kishan Reddy will inaugurate the National District Mineral Foundation (DMF) Portal. This centralized platform aims to streamline information on District Mineral Foundations nationwide. It will facilitate access to DMF data, enabling stakeholders to track developments and utilization effectively.

Tranche II and III E-Auction Updates

The Ministry of Mines, leveraging its authority under Section 11D of the Mines and Minerals (Development and Regulation) Act, has recently launched Tranche II and Tranche III of e-auctions for critical and strategic minerals. Minister Shri G. Kishan Reddy will announce the preferred bidders for these mineral blocks during the event, marking a significant step in mineral resource allocation.

Roadshow on Tranche IV E-Auction

Following the proceedings, a Roadshow will be conducted on Tranche IV of the e-auction for Critical and Strategic Mineral Blocks. Launched through a Notice Inviting Tender (NIT) on June 24th, 2024, this roadshow aims to enhance industry engagement and familiarize potential bidders with the e-auction process overseen by the Ministry of Mines.
