Commerce & Industry Minister Hosts Key Interaction with Industry Leaders in Hyderabad

Hyderabad, Shri Piyush Goyal, the Union Minister of Commerce & Industry, spearheaded a pivotal interaction with industry stakeholders at Hyderabad today, underscoring the government’s commitment to fostering economic growth and innovation across various sectors. The event, attended by more than 200 stakeholders, featured prominent figures from aerospace, IT, leather & footwear, logistics, agro & food, pharma, and medical devices industries, among others, aimed at soliciting views, suggestions, and success stories.

Accompanying Shri Goyal were esteemed dignitaries including Shri G. Kishan Reddy, Union Minister of Coal and Mines, and Shri D. Sridhar Babu, Industries Minister of Telangana, who collectively emphasized the transformative potential of collaboration between public and private sectors.

The gathering witnessed the participation of leading industry names such as Cargo Exchange India, MPL, Jasper Shipping, Mahindra & Mahindra, Tata Ltd., and Dr. Reddy’s Laboratories Ltd., among others. Their presence underscored a unified commitment towards leveraging opportunities and overcoming challenges in India’s industrial landscape.

The agenda included discussions on several key government initiatives such as Ease of Doing Business, PM GatiShakti, Start-Up India, Intellectual Property Rights, and Free Trade Agreements. Officials from the Ministry of Commerce & Industry elaborated on these initiatives, highlighting their role in promoting a conducive environment for business growth and investment.

Shri D. Sridhar Babu emphasized Telangana’s potential to emerge as the AI capital and a hub for skill development, aligning with the state’s aspirations for accelerated economic growth and technological advancement.

Shri G. Kishan Reddy advocated for sustainable economic development through Public-Private Partnerships (PPP), underscoring the importance of initiatives like GST reforms and Production Linked Incentive (PLI) schemes in bolstering local manufacturing capabilities.

In his address, Shri Piyush Goyal reiterated the government’s dedication to addressing industry challenges and fostering a supportive ecosystem for innovation and growth. He highlighted the role of stakeholder feedback in shaping policies that facilitate economic development and enhance India’s global competitiveness.

The session concluded with assurances from the ministers to review the suggestions raised by stakeholders and collaborate closely with industry leaders to realize the nation’s economic ambitions. Shri Goyal commended Telangana for its proactive approach in attracting investments and assured continued support from the central government for infrastructure development and industrial expansion.

The event served as a platform for constructive dialogue and collaboration between government officials and industry leaders, reinforcing India’s commitment to sustainable economic growth and industrial excellence.
