PM Modi’s Address in Pilibhit, UP: A Commitment to Farmer Prosperity

Date:

Prime Minister Narendra Modi, during his recent visit to Pilibhit, Uttar Pradesh, reiterated the BJP government’s commitment to the welfare of farmers. He drew attention to the significant financial support provided to the farmers under the BJP government, particularly in comparison to the previous SP, BSP, and Congress governments.

“The farmers in Uttar Pradesh have received around Rs 70,000 crore in their bank accounts under the PM Kisan Samman Nidhi scheme,” said PM Modi. He further added, “The amount of money transferred to sugarcane farmers here by the BJP government is more than the amount transferred to farmers under 14 years of SP- BSP- Congress government in UP.”

The PM Kisan Samman Nidhi is a central sector scheme with 100% funding from the Government of India. It aims to provide income support to all landholding farmers’ families across the country, to enable them to take care of expenses related to agriculture and allied activities as well as domestic needs.

PM Modi’s statement comes at a time when the role of agriculture in India’s economy and the well-being of its farmers have been subjects of intense discussion. His remarks in Pilibhit are seen as a reaffirmation of the BJP government’s focus on agricultural reforms and farmer welfare.

The Prime Minister’s emphasis on the significant financial support provided to the farmers under the BJP government is likely to resonate with the farming community in Uttar Pradesh. As the country continues to navigate the complexities of agricultural reform and farmer welfare, the spotlight remains firmly on the measures taken by the government to ensure the prosperity of its farmers.
