Prime Minister Narendra Modi Inaugurates ‘Startup Mahakumbh’ at Bharat Mandapam

 Prime Minister Narendra Modi inaugurated the ‘Startup Mahakumbh’ at Bharat Mandapam, New Delhi today. The event, a three-day government-initiated program, was aimed at strengthening the startup ecosystem and drawing investments into the sector.

The Prime Minister addressed thousands of prospective entrepreneurs, investors, and business visitors. The focus of his address was on the government’s initiatives to enhance emerging sectors like deeptech.

A Vibrant Atmosphere for Collaboration and Networking

The ‘Startup Mahakumbh’ is India’s largest startup event and saw unprecedented participation. It served as a dynamic platform for all stakeholders in the country’s startup ecosystem. The event attracted significant interest from leading investors, innovators, and aspiring entrepreneurs.

With over 2000 startups, 1000+ investors, 100+ unicorns, 300+ incubators & accelerators, 3,000+ conference delegates, 10+ country delegations, 3000+ future entrepreneurs, and 50,000+ business visitors, it offered a vibrant atmosphere for collaboration and networking.

Emphasizing the Importance of Startups

The Prime Minister highlighted the importance of the ‘Startup Mahakumbh’ and emphasized the country’s roadmap of working to become a Viksit Bharat by 2047. He acknowledged the presence of investors, incubators, academicians, researchers, industry members, and present and future entrepreneurs and said, “This is indeed a Mahakumbh in its truest form creating an unprecedented energy and vibe”.

He also mentioned that any Indian visiting the ‘Startup Mahakumbh’ will witness the unicorns and decacorns of the future. The Prime Minister expressed satisfaction over the growth of the startup ecosystem in the country due to the right policies.

Startup Revolution Led by Small Cities

The Prime Minister said that the startup revolution is being led by small cities and that too in a wide range of sectors including agriculture, textiles, medicine, transport, space, yoga, and ayurveda. Elaborating on space startups, the Prime Minister said that Indian startups are working in more than 50 areas in the space sector, including the launch of the space shuttle.

The ‘Startup Mahakumbh’ event has been a significant step towards fostering growth in emerging sectors such as DeepTech, AgriTech, BioTech, MedTech, AI, and Gaming. The Prime Minister’s address has further emphasized the importance of startups in driving India’s economic progress and development.
