PM Narendra Modi Urges Stronger Link Between Education and Real-World Economy

Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Monday emphasized the need to accelerate the integration of India’s education system with the real-world economy, highlighting the importance of emerging technologies such as artificial intelligence and automation.

Speaking at a post-budget webinar, the Prime Minister said India must strengthen its focus on modern sectors to support the country’s transition toward an innovation-driven economy.

Focus on AI, Automation and Digital Economy

During his address, PM Modi stressed the importance of aligning education with the evolving demands of the global economy.

He said India must increase its focus on areas such as Artificial Intelligence (AI), automation, the digital economy, and design-driven manufacturing to prepare students and professionals for future opportunities.

According to the Prime Minister, strengthening these sectors will help build a skilled workforce capable of supporting India’s rapid economic growth and technological advancement.

India Moving Towards an Innovation-Driven Economy

PM Modi noted that India is steadily moving toward an innovation-led economic model, where education, research, and technology will play a central role.

He highlighted that connecting academic learning with industry requirements will help create more employment opportunities and foster entrepreneurship among young people.

Emphasis on Preventive and Holistic Healthcare

The Prime Minister also spoke about India’s growing focus on preventive and holistic healthcare.

He said the country’s health infrastructure has significantly improved over the past few years, with medical colleges being established in hundreds of districts to strengthen healthcare services.

Ayushman Bharat Expanding Healthcare Access

Highlighting government initiatives in the health sector, PM Modi said the Ayushman Bharat programme has played a key role in expanding healthcare access across the country.

Through Arogya Mandirs under the scheme, health services are now reaching villages across India, improving accessibility for rural populations.

The Prime Minister also noted the growing global popularity of Yoga and Ayurveda, India’s traditional systems of wellness and healthcare.

He said these developments reflect India’s broader commitment to building a strong, inclusive, and future-ready healthcare system while strengthening the country’s position in global wellness practices.
