India appeared to be cruising towards an easy win with a 3-0 lead, but Pakistan staged a comeback, equalizing the score early in the final quarter. Abhishek then scored the decisive goal in the final minute, restoring India’s lead and propelling the team into the final. The Indian team made an aggressive start, securing their first goal in the fifth minute. After earning several penalty corners, Harmanpreet Singh put India ahead by driving the ball between the legs of Pakistan’s goalkeeper, Muneeb-ur-Rehman Raza.
Harmanpreet doubled the lead in the 13th minute by converting another penalty corner with a powerful shot. India had maintained dominance over the game up to that point. Pakistan clawed their way back into the match just before half-time when Abu Mahmood converted a penalty corner in the 30th minute, narrowing the deficit to 3-1. The momentum of the game continued to shift even after the half-time interval. Hanan Shahid scored another goal in the 45th minute. Pakistan staged a comeback three minutes into the final quarter; Rana Waheed converted a pass from the right flank into a goal, leveling the score at 3-3. Despite having held a three-goal lead, India now faced the looming threat of a shootout. Abhishek sealed the match by scoring the fourth goal with just seconds remaining. In the final, India will face the winner of the second semi-final between South Korea and Malaysia.
