Hyderabad: As part of efforts to improve the implementation of key rural development programs, a team of senior officials from the Department of Rural Development, Government of India, will undertake an official visit to Karnataka. The team will comprise Mr. Altaf Hussain Haji (ISS), Deputy Director General and Statistical Adviser, Mr. Anil Kumar K.C., Under Secretary; and Mr. Baldev Verma, Assistant Director. The visit is scheduled to take place from July 5 to July 11, 2026.
During this visit, officials will hold review meetings with state government officials in Bengaluru. These meetings will assess the progress of key schemes and discuss measures to improve program implementation and service delivery. The team will also visit the Belagavi and Davanagere districts to facilitate the implementation of VB-GRAMG and review its execution at the grassroots level.
In addition to VB-GRAMG, officials will review the implementation of other key programs of the Ministry of Rural Development, including Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana-Gramin (PMAY-G), Deendayal Antyodaya Yojana-National Rural Livelihood Mission (DAY-NRLM), Pradhan Mantri Gram Sadak Yojana (PMGSY), Mahatma Gandhi National Rural Employment Guarantee Scheme (MGNREGS), and the National Social Assistance Programme (NSAP).
Field visits will include interactions with district officials, representatives of Panchayati Raj institutions, members of Self-Help Groups (SHGs), existing MGNREGS job card holders, and beneficiaries of various rural development schemes.
The Ministry of Rural Development is committed to implementing its flagship programs in a transparent, accountable, and effective manner. To this end, the Ministry undertakes activities such as continuous monitoring, close coordination with state governments, and regular reviews of operations at the grassroots level. Such visits strengthen cooperative federalism and contribute to achieving the goal of inclusive and sustainable rural development across the country.
