₹18,640 Crore DBT Under PM-Kisan: PM Modi Transfers 22nd Installment to Farmers from Guwahati

Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Friday released the 22nd instalment of the Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi, transferring more than ₹18,640 crore directly to the bank accounts of over 9.3 crore farmer families across the country through Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT).

Under the scheme, eligible farmers receive ₹2,000 per instalment, which is credited directly to their bank accounts.

Instalment Released from Guwahati

The Prime Minister released the latest instalment during a program held in Guwahati. According to government data, around 9.32 crore farmer families benefited from the latest transfer.

The financial assistance is intended to help farmers meet agricultural and household expenses, including purchasing seeds, fertilizers, and other farming inputs.

Objective of the PM-Kisan Scheme

The PM-Kisan scheme aims to provide income support to small and marginal farmers across India.

Under the program, farmers receive ₹6,000 annually, which is distributed in three equal instalments of ₹2,000 each directly into their bank accounts.

The government believes that timely financial support helps farmers manage agricultural expenses such as seeds, fertilizers, pesticides, and other inputs.

Farmers Receive SMS Confirmation

After the instalment is credited, farmers receive confirmation messages on their registered mobile numbers from the government and their respective banks.

Farmers can verify whether the 22nd instalment has been credited by checking the SMS notifications received on their phones.

If any eligible farmer does not receive the instalment, they can contact the PM-Kisan helpline for assistance.

PM-Kisan Scheme Launched in 2019

The Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi scheme was launched on February 24, 2019, by Prime Minister Narendra Modi from Gorakhpur.

Since its launch, the scheme has been providing direct financial support to millions of farmers across the country.

Over ₹4.27 Lakh Crore Transferred to Farmers

According to Shivraj Singh Chouhan, more than ₹4.09 lakh crore had been transferred to farmers under the scheme since its launch in February 2019.

With the release of the 22nd instalment, the total amount transferred will increase to over ₹4.27 lakh crore.

Support for Women Farmers

The agriculture minister also said that more than 2.15 crore women farmers will benefit from the latest instalment.

Officials said the scheme is helping strengthen farmers’ financial stability while ensuring that essential agricultural expenses can be met on time, contributing to sustainable growth in the agriculture sector.
