UIDAI Partners with Google to List Authorized Aadhaar Centres on Google Maps, Improving Public Access Nationwide

In a major step to improve access to Aadhaar services across India, the Unique Identification Authority of India (UIDAI) has announced a new partnership with Google. Under this initiative, authorized Aadhaar centres will soon be listed on Google Maps, enabling citizens to easily locate verified Aadhaar service centres near them.

The move is aimed at enhancing transparency, reducing misinformation, and making government services more accessible and user-friendly.

Verified Aadhaar Centres to Appear on Google Maps

With this feature, users will be able to search for and identify nearby authorized Aadhaar centres directly on Google Maps.

The listing will display detailed information about services available at each centre, including:

  • Adult Aadhaar enrolment

  • Child enrolment

  • Address update services

  • Mobile number update services

This will help citizens choose the appropriate centre based on their specific requirements, saving time and avoiding unnecessary visits.

Facility Details and Accessibility Information

In addition to service details, Google Maps will also show information about facilities available at Aadhaar centres, such as:

  • Accessibility arrangements for persons with disabilities

  • Parking availability

  • Centre operating hours

These updates are expected to significantly enhance user experience and ensure smoother service delivery.

Over 60,000 Aadhaar Centres to Be Covered

The service is expected to roll out in the coming months and will provide verified access to more than 60,000 Aadhaar centres across the country.

UIDAI CEO Bhuvnesh Kumar said the partnership marks an important step toward simplifying the lives of Aadhaar holders. He emphasized that reaching authorized Aadhaar centres will now become easier, faster, and more transparent.

Future Plans: Google Business Profile and Appointment Booking

In the next phase, UIDAI will update centre information through Google Business Profiles and respond directly to public feedback, increasing accountability and transparency.

Looking ahead, the partnership may also introduce an appointment booking feature via Google Maps, allowing citizens to plan their visits in advance and reduce waiting time.

Roli Aggarwal, a representative from Google India, said the initiative will help millions of people access trusted government services more easily and bridge the gap between citizens and essential services through technology.

The UIDAI–Google collaboration is being seen as a significant digital governance reform, reinforcing India’s push toward smarter, technology-driven public service delivery.
