Hyderabad: Telangana BJP chief Ramchander Rao on Tuesday accused Congress leader Rahul Gandhi of using a “fake book” to question national security in Parliament, demanding that he apologise to the nation and the Armed Forces.
Addressing the media in Hyderabad, Rao said that both Author General MM Naravane (Retd) and publishing house Penguin have clarified that no book written by General Naravane has been published so far. “Author General MM Naravane (Retd) and Penguin have clarified that no book written by General MM Naravane (Retd) has been published yet. Rahul Gandhi has used a fake book in circulation and questioned national security,” Rao stated.
He alleged that raising concerns about national security based on unverified material was irresponsible and could mislead the public. Rao further said that such actions undermine the credibility of serious parliamentary discussions and harm the morale of the Armed Forces.
“Rahul Gandhi has been this way for a long time. I don’t understand why he can’t appreciate our Armed Forces. The Opposition is not playing its role responsibly,” he added. Rao emphasized that national security is a sensitive matter that requires careful handling and should not be politicised.
Calling for accountability, the Telangana BJP chief demanded that the Congress leader issue a public apology. “Rahul Gandhi should apologise to the nation for using a fake book and questioning national security in the Parliament,” he said.
The remarks come amid heightened political exchanges between the BJP and Congress over defence-related issues. While the controversy has triggered sharp reactions from both sides, there has been no immediate response from Rahul Gandhi or the Congress party on the allegations.
