BJP’s NV Subhash Calls Out Congress on ‘Samvidhan Hatya Diwas’, Vows to Expose Emergency Era Injustices

Date:

Hyderabad: As part of the observance of ‘Samvidhan Hatya Diwas’ (Constitution Murder Day), BJP leader NV Subhash launched a sharp attack on the Congress Party, calling out its “hypocrisy” and reaffirming the BJP’s commitment to keeping the memory of the Emergency alive for future generations.

Speaking to media in Hyderabad, Subhash said, “The BJP is clear that coming generations must know what really happened during Indira Gandhi’s Emergency. It was the darkest period in the history of Indian democracy.”

He announced that the Telangana BJP will conduct awareness programs on June 25, 26, and 27 to educate citizens about the suspension of democratic rights, censorship, and mass arrests that occurred during the 1975–77 Emergency.

Subhash further criticized the Congress, stating, “Even now, they hold the Constitution in one hand and go to foreign lands to speak against India with the other. This double-faced politics must be exposed.” He said the pain and trauma experienced by those jailed or silenced during the Emergency are still remembered by many families across the country.

Labeling the Emergency as the “saddest part of Indian democracy,” NV Subhash reiterated BJP’s stance that remembering and acknowledging these events is essential for safeguarding constitutional values and civil liberties.
