PM Modi Inaugurates Development Works in Rameswaram, Highlights Tamil Nadu’s Economic Growth and Infrastructure Boost

Rameswaram, Tamil NaduPrime Minister Narendra Modi laid the foundation stone and inaugurated several development projects in Rameswaram, Tamil Nadu, today, emphasizing the significant strides in the state’s development under the central government. PM Modi highlighted that over the past decade, the central government has provided three times more funds for Tamil Nadu’s development compared to the period before 2014, driving the state’s economic and industrial growth.

During his address, the Prime Minister stated, “Tamil Nadu’s infrastructure is a priority for the Government of India,” underscoring the government’s continuous efforts to enhance the state’s infrastructure. He also drew attention to the massive increase in railway budget allocations for the state. “In the last 10 years, the railway budget for Tamil Nadu has increased more than sevenfold. Before 2014, only 900 crore rupees were allocated annually for rail projects. This year, it exceeds 6,000 crore rupees,” he noted.

PM Modi also announced the modernization of 77 railway stations across Tamil Nadu, including the Rameswaram railway station, which will help improve connectivity and boost the region’s economy. These initiatives reflect the central government’s commitment to enhancing infrastructure, promoting industrial growth, and improving the quality of life for people in Tamil Nadu. The ongoing and upcoming development projects are expected to play a key role in transforming Tamil Nadu into a major economic and industrial hub in the country.
