G Kishan Reddy Appointed State Election In-Charge for Jammu and Kashmir

Date:

In a significant move ahead of the upcoming Assembly elections in Jammu and Kashmir, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) National President, JP Nadda, is scheduled to visit the Union Territory on July 6. His visit aims to energize the party workers and strategize for the electoral battle.

The BJP’s resounding victory in the Lok Sabha elections across the country was further bolstered by its consecutive wins in both seats in the Jammu division for the third time. This momentum has added impetus to the party’s preparations for the state assembly elections.

Meanwhile, the BJP has appointed Union Minister G Kishan Reddy as the state election in-charge for Jammu and Kashmir. Reddy, who recently took oath as a Union Minister in Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s cabinet, will play a crucial role in coordinating the party’s election campaign.

BJP Jammu and Kashmir Chief, Ravinder Rana, emphasized that the next Chief Minister of Jammu and Kashmir will be from the BJP. The party’s commitment to this assertion underscores its determination to lead the state.

The BJP-led government had scrapped Article 370 in Jammu and Kashmir in August 2019, bifurcating the state into two union territories. Since then, there have been demands from various political parties for early assembly elections and the restoration of statehood.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi, during his recent visit to Srinagar, assured that “time is not far” when the people of Jammu and Kashmir will elect a new government in assembly polls. He also indicated that statehood would be restored soon to the Union Territory.

As the political landscape in Jammu and Kashmir evolves, all eyes are on the upcoming assembly elections. JP Nadda’s visit and G Kishan Reddy’s appointment signal the BJP’s commitment to securing a strong mandate in the region.
