PM Modi’s Commitment to Women’s Safety: A Strong Message at ‘Nari Shakti Samvad Program’

Date:

Prime Minister Narendra Modi, in a recent address at the ‘Nari Shakti Samvad Program’ in Varanasi, took a firm stand on women’s safety and empowerment, sending a clear message to the opposition parties, particularly the Samajwadi Party (SP) and the INDI alliance.

The Prime Minister expressed his disapproval of the INDI alliance’s opposition to women’s reservation and pointed out the difficulties faced by women wherever their government is in power. He brought up the era of ‘jungle raj’ in Uttar Pradesh and Bihar under the SP rule, a time when women’s safety was a major concern. He quoted the SP’s controversial statement, “ladke hain galti ho jati hai” (boys will be boys, mistakes happen), and assured that such an attitude towards women’s safety will not be tolerated under the Yogi Adityanath government.

PM Modi warned, “If SP boys make a mistake today, they will get such a treatment from Yogi Adityanath’s government that they would not have even imagined.” This statement was a direct response to the controversial comment made by former UP Chief Minister Mulayam Singh Yadav, who had trivialized rape cases by saying, “ladke hain galti ho jati hai” (boys will be boys, mistakes happen).

In his address, PM Modi also highlighted the BJP government’s initiatives aimed at improving the lives of women across the country. He said, “The Opposition made fun of me that I am busy in building toilets. But, I knew the value of toilets for my mothers and sisters. We built 11 crore toilets. I opened bank accounts for poor women free of cost. We distributed 4 crore houses and did registration in the name of women, so they become the owners.”

Before his address, the Prime Minister greeted the people while sitting on a specially designed vehicle. Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath also accompanied him during the roadshow, further demonstrating the BJP’s commitment to women’s welfare. This event marked a significant moment in the ongoing discourse on women’s safety and empowerment in India.
