Boora Narsaiah Goud Hails GST Reforms as a “Milestone” Benefiting Common Citizens

Date:

BJP leader Boora Narsaiah Goud lauded the recently implemented GST reforms, calling them a milestone reform that will provide substantial relief to the common citizen despite a significant short-term revenue impact on the government. Speaking to the media in Hyderabad, Goud said the reform is a “win for the people,” even though it is expected to result in a government revenue loss of ₹1 to 1.5 lakh crore annually.

Highlighting the broader scope of the initiative, Goud explained that the new GST framework is built on seven key pillars—benefiting common citizens, healthcare, farmers, manufacturers, the MSME sector, and all sections of society. He asserted that this inclusive design will not only boost consumption but also increase production, expand the tax net, and create a more transparent and equitable taxation system.

“This reform is a crucial step toward making India a $5 trillion economy,” Goud said, dismissing the opposition’s criticism as misconceived propaganda. He emphasized that the revised GST ensures equal revenue sharing between the central and state governments, thereby maintaining fiscal balance despite the initial revenue dip.

Taking a swipe at political rivals, Goud added, “The opposition is always like a crybaby. Instead of appreciating a reform that benefits every section of society, they are spreading misinformation.”

The BJP leader concluded by stressing that these changes will strengthen India’s economic base while directly easing the financial burden on millions of families.
