BJP MP Konda Vishweshwar Reddy Slams Rahul Gandhi Over ‘Vote Theft’ Allegations

Date:

Reacting sharply to Congress leader Rahul Gandhi’s recent allegations of vote theft, BJP MP Konda Vishweshwar Reddy criticized the Congress leader for what he termed as “pre-emptive excuses” ahead of the upcoming Bihar Assembly elections. Reddy’s remarks come in the backdrop of Gandhi accusing the BJP of manipulating the electoral process and undermining democracy.

Addressing the media in Hyderabad, Reddy pointed out a pattern in Rahul Gandhi’s statements following electoral setbacks. “After losing Maharashtra and Haryana, he blamed EVMs, claiming they are wrong. Now he knows he is going to lose Bihar, so he is making such excuses before the elections,” Reddy said. He questioned the logic of the Congress leader’s allegations, asking, “If we can really tamper with EVMs, why do we need to steal votes?”

The BJP MP argued that India’s electronic voting system is one of the most secure in the world, citing the Election Commission’s consistent defense of EVM integrity and transparency. He further alleged that Gandhi’s comments were an attempt to demoralize voters and create distrust in the electoral process to cover up his party’s waning public support.

Reddy’s remarks underscore the rising political temperature as Bihar heads toward a crucial election, with the BJP and Congress-led opposition intensifying their campaigns. While Congress continues to raise concerns about election credibility, the BJP maintains that EVMs are tamper-proof and accuses the opposition of undermining democratic institutions to mask repeated electoral defeats.
