In a symbolic gesture ahead of Ambedkar Jayanti, Union Minister and Telangana State BJP President G. Kishan Reddy cleaned the statue of Dr. B.R. Ambedkar at Banjara Hills and offered floral tributes on Saturday.
The act was part of a nationwide initiative by the BJP to honor the legacy of the architect of the Indian Constitution on the eve of his 135th birth anniversary. Speaking at the event, Reddy emphasized the importance of Dr. Ambedkar’s contributions to social justice and equality, and reiterated the BJP’s commitment to upholding his ideals.
“Cleaning and decorating Ambedkar statues across the country is our way of showing respect and gratitude to the man who gave us the Constitution and championed the rights of the marginalized,” Reddy said.
BJP leaders and workers across Telangana and the rest of the country are set to participate in similar programmes tomorrow to mark the occasion with reverence and public outreach.
