BJP Leader N Ramchander Rao Condemns Abu Azmi’s Remarks on Aurangzeb, Calls for Action

Date:

BJP leader N Ramchander Rao has strongly criticized Samajwadi Party MLA Abu Azmi for his remarks on Aurangzeb, accusing him of distorting history and hurting the sentiments of the Hindu community.

“Samajwadi Party leader Abu Azmi, who glorified Aurangzeb and said that the country developed during his time and that he built many temples, is doing nothing but distorting history,” Rao said.

He emphasized that historical records clearly show Aurangzeb’s oppressive rule, citing his actions against Hindu rulers, forced religious conversions, and the destruction of temples.

“Everyone knows that in history, how Aurangzeb harassed Hindu rulers, how he killed them, and how conversions were made, and how many temples were destroyed,” he added.

Rao questioned the relevance of glorifying Aurangzeb in the present day and expressed concern over the impact of such statements on public sentiment.

“Now the question is whether Aurangzeb has to be glorified at this point in time. His statement is definitely misleading and, moreover, it is hurting the sentiments of the majority Hindus,” he remarked.

Calling for strict action against Abu Azmi, Rao urged authorities to take note of his remarks and their potential to create unrest.

“Action needs to be taken against him,” he asserted.

The controversy surrounding Azmi’s statements continues to intensify, with political leaders demanding accountability. It remains to be seen whether the Maharashtra government will take action in response to the growing backlash.
