PM Modi Champions India’s Commitment to Development and Heritage Conservation at World Heritage Committee

Prime Minister Narendra Modi articulated India’s steadfast commitment to both development and heritage conservation during his keynote address at the inaugural event of the 46th Session of the World Heritage Committee. Speaking from New Delhi, PM Modi emphasized India’s holistic approach encapsulated in the motto, ‘Vikas Bhi, Virasat Bhi’ (Development and Heritage Together), highlighting the nation’s achievements in modern development while preserving its cultural heritage.

“India’s vision remains clear – ‘Vikas Bhi, Virasat Bhi.’ Over the past decade, India has achieved significant milestones in modern development while also pledging to honor and preserve its rich heritage,” PM Modi affirmed. He underscored the importance of striking a balance between progress and heritage conservation, which he described as integral to India’s identity and global standing.

PM Modi pointed to the government’s proactive steps in heritage conservation, noting, “We have undertaken unprecedented initiatives for the preservation of our heritage,” reaffirming India’s commitment to safeguarding and promoting its diverse cultural legacy.

Addressing an international audience at the World Heritage Committee Meeting, PM Modi reiterated India’s role in global heritage preservation efforts. “India stands ready to collaborate with the world in protecting our shared heritage for future generations,” he declared, emphasizing the need for collective action to safeguard cultural and natural treasures of universal significance.

The World Heritage Committee Meeting serves as a pivotal forum for dialogue and cooperation among nations to safeguard and manage cultural and natural heritage sites. PM Modi’s address highlighted India’s leadership in cultural preservation and its dedication to promoting global cooperation for sustainable heritage management.
