PM Modi Promises to Return ₹3,000 Crore to West Bengal’s Underprivileged

Date:

Prime Minister Narendra Modi has made a significant promise to the underprivileged population of West Bengal. In a conversation with Amrita Roy, the BJP candidate from Krishnanagar Lok Sabha constituency in West Bengal, he pledged to return nearly ₹3,000 crore that was allegedly “looted” from them and is now under the control of the Enforcement Directorate (ED).

The Prime Minister’s commitment to the poor of West Bengal was conveyed during a phone call on Wednesday. He expressed his determination to ensure that the funds, currently attached by the ED, are returned to those from whom they were taken.

This assurance from the Prime Minister comes at a time when the BJP is making a concerted effort to establish a stronger presence in West Bengal, a state that has been a stronghold of the Trinamool Congress. The conversation with Roy is viewed as a strategic move by the BJP to strengthen its foothold in the state.

The promise to return the “looted” funds could be a game-changer in gaining the confidence of the people of West Bengal. However, the execution of this promise and its impact on the forthcoming Lok Sabha elections remains to be seen.

The Enforcement Directorate, which is responsible for enforcing economic laws and combating economic crime in India, has not yet responded to the Prime Minister’s statement.
